We are excited to be heading over to the land of the vikings tomorrow morning to record Smidig '07, an agile development conference in Oslo, Norway. The conference will take place November 26-27.

This will be our first international engagement. We have learned a lot during this process. There were some interesting twists as we learned how to get all our gear into the country without having to pay the usual customs importing fees. Apparently there is a quasi-government organization in charge of managing the export documentation required for traveling crews with equipment. And of course, they charge a fee for their services. But at least we don't have to pay the 40% or more that would be taken by value-added taxes.

We'll post some pictures and a write-up when it's over.

Some of you have inquired about the status of the RubyConf videos. Rest assured, they are on their way. We experienced a few delays as we refactored our post-production editing scripts. The final videos are being transcoded now and should be available within the next few days. In the future, these improvements we have made to our process should significantly decrease our turnaround time. Thanks for your patience!

We uploaded the first RubyConf video over the weekend, a rough cut of the town hall meeting with Matz. We are also transcoding and uploading many others as I write this. Expect the others to be up before the end of the week.
